Toby Smith

Archaeologist

Toby studied archaeology at the University of York and has been working in commercial archaeology for several years. He joined AOC in 2019 and has since developed extensive skills in excavation and recording across a wide range of sites. He has worked on multiple sites including large-scale infrastructure projects, ranging in scope from trial trenching to vast open area excavations, and from the prehistoric to post-medieval periods.  He is skilled in all aspects of site excavation and recording and also assists the York post-excavation team.
